Raw Photography

By Leah Dunbar.

Four local artists have conjured up a show with the idea of dichotomy in mind. Though The Raw Deal’s October exhibition is a photography-based show, it’s not the traditional photography one would expect. Each of the four artists in Dichotomy: A Photographic Exploration used either a digital or film camera to take a picture, and then mixed media with their photography to create the “dichotomy,” whether it be adding paint, meddling with texture, or experimenting with light outside the film. Each virtuoso’s collection is centered on their own personal theme. The artists include Michael Tarr, Leah Dunbar, William Christianson, and Amy Fichter, the life drawing professor from UW-Stout. The opening reception will be held Friday, October 9, 7-10pm, is free and all ages are welcome.
