I like lunch. I work fairly long days, so it’s a great chance to get out of the office and chow down. My fellow V1 staffers and I can often debate all morning about where our lunch adventures might take us that day (that is if I decide to not care that I should save money and eat healthier by staying at the office). Each person generally lobbies fairly hard for whatever it is they’re hankering. We have heated debates about food, dining room size, wait time, cost, etc., all of which eventually lead us to a decision – hopefully before we actually get in the car and start driving. On particularly nice days, walkable downtown locations gain heavy favor. But this summer, in an effort to eat better and cheaper, I’m probably going to have to skip many of these noon-time adventures in favor of a lean turkey sandwich on wheat, some carrots, and a glass of water. Because that’s the responsible adult thing to do.
