Nicole Humphrey |

The Chippewa Valley Youth Symphony is a full string and wind orchestra for advanced musicians in grades 7-12. CVYS will hold auditions on April 11 and 25, from 11am to 4pm in the Haas Fine Arts Center at UW-Eau Claire. Students should prepare a three-minute, unaccompanied solo (from current work, showcasing technical and musical prowess) and one scale up to three octaves (sight-reading tested). Current members must re-audition. Members are required to participate in school band or orchestra. CVYS meets Tuesdays from 6 to 8pm in the instrumental music room at Haas Fine Arts Center and costs $85 dollars per semester (financial aid available). To register for auditions, visit the CVYS website and click “Forms.”
