Open a Window and Join the Family: Window World of Eau Claire
It's a classic Chippewa Valley tale: with enough hard work and a genuine approach, a small business can transcend the walls of its storefront and become a true facet of the community.
It’s a classic Chippewa Valley tale: with enough hard work and a genuine approach, a small business can transcend the walls of its storefront and become a true facet of the community. In this case, it’s more of a window into the community.
Window World of Eau Claire is owned and operated by the Heinz family – 12-kids strong! –and has been offering family-oriented service to locals since 2008. When Tim and DeAnn Heinz moved their family from Fond du Lac to Eau Claire nearly two decades ago, Tim brought his entrepreneurial spirit in full force, laying the groundwork for what would become a steadily growing business.
Daniel, one of six boys in the family, recalls glimpses into his parents’ Eau Claire business as a kid. As a teenager, he gained experience in the warehouse, installing, and marketing – as did many of his siblings, 10 of the Heinz kids lending their efforts to Window World – and after time spent in college, he returned to support the family business.
“The past few years have been so unpredictable, but our family is committed to working hard,” Daniel said. “With quality products at an exceptionally affordable price, we work with people more as friends than as salesmen: We’re not just family owned, we’re family oriented.”
It’s a family-grown success story, and one that includes each and every one of its clients over the years: clients who became friends, staff members who became family, and a business that made its home in the Chippewa Valley.
As a nationwide company, Window World has decades of experience backing its status as America’s largest replacement window and exterior remodeling company. As a local branch, Window World of Eau Claire utilizes its national resources and applies it to in-person conversations and services.
Of course, as the years go by, the community evolves as does the rest of the country. With it, the longtime family business has too, transitioning from its original building off of Clairemont Avenue in 2008 to a location in Altoona in 2011. In 2021, the Heinz and Window World of Eau Claire team bought its first building, back in Eau Claire.
By offering windows with second-to-none lifetime warranties and clear, itemized pricing for their services, Window World of Eau Claire brings family-style service to homeowners throughout Northwestern Wisconsin. They specialize in more than windows, too: energy-efficient doors, gutters, guards, and siding.
But service, to Window World, is more than just its own remodeling work. Since 2008, the Window World Cares foundation has raised more than $16 million for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In support of the military and veterans, the Window World Military Initiative has focused its efforts on supporting those who offer their service to the nation, facilitating free air transportation to wounded veterans and their families.
It’s a family-grown success story, and one that includes each and every one of its clients over the years: clients who became friends, staff members who became family, and a business that made its home in the Chippewa Valley.
If you’re a local, you know what the Window World of Eau Claire team always says: They don’t just stand behind their windows, they stand on them.
