“Ripped from the Headlines” (2024)  • Torn magazine pages in collage • From Vue: “For our 500th issue cover, we aimed to depart from our usual method of showcasing previous milestone covers through old cover art. Instead, we opted for a grunge collage aesthetic. We tore pieces from past issues by hand, creating a backdrop of black and white, and meticulously gathered various shades of yellow from old magazines to construct the prominent ‘500’ on top. Adding the torn Volume One header was a spontaneous decision that ultimately completed the cover perfectly. We trust you’ll find as much delight in the cover as we did in creating it!”

Volume One finds its cover art in a number of ways, from local art shows to random emails to knowing someone who knows someone who knows a great artist. The art always originates from a current or former Chippewa Valley resident. If you'd like to submit cover art, send us a message.
